Facework has been developed by Stephen Carrick-Davies working with the Inclusion Trust and Worktree and a range of young people and staff from the following Alternative Education Providers and organisations:
2nd Chance / Bridge Academy / Greys Academy Bedford / North East Kent Alternative Provision Service / PRUS in Croydon Southwark, Ipswich and Waltham Forest/ The PRUSAP network / Inspire Hackney/ Newhaven PRU Greenwich
The project was funded by Nominet Trust who funded the team to work slowly and carefully over a two year period (August 2013- November 2015) directly with students and staff in producing this resource.
We are grateful to those staff on the Facework Advisory Researcher’s Group who reviewed the content and provided valuable critical feedback and support.
If you would like to partner with us in developing Facework please let us know.
“What’s great about Facework is its combo of good design principles, understanding of both young people and teachers from close working with both, and focus on the employability skills which matter most to young people’s success at work. Watching Stephen C-D at work on these resources has been inspiring. His commitment to understanding the actual learning processes and experiences of young people, no matter who they are, coupled with his creativity and a natural inclination to collaborate with other educators, mark him out as one of the UK’s foremost thinkers in alternative curriculum design.” Tom Bulman, Director WorkTree
